Samantha Audrain, MA, PhD Candidate
Samantha is a graduate student researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto and the Krembil Brain Institute at Toronto Western Hospital, working under the supervision of Dr. Mary Pat McAndrews. She investigates memory in the healthy brain and in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy, examining the roles of prior knowledge, sleep, and medial temporal lobe damage to systems consolidation. She uses behavioural paradigms as well as functional neuroimaging techniques, including resting state network connectivity, task-related brain activation, and multivoxel pattern analyses. Samantha is also involved in translational research studies that investigate the utility of preoperative resting-state measures of brain network health to informing postoperative cognitive outcomes in patients with epilepsy undergoing anterior temporal lobe resection.
